When Milton Keynes Dons were opening their new stadium back in 2007, it was already able to hold over 30,000 people, but with limited ticket demand the upper tier was left unfinished, depending on club growth.

What may worry Dons and at the same time please football fans across England, is the fact that no significant growth has been recorded in recent season. With over 22,000 seats available the club known for destroying traditions of Wimbledon barely reaches 8,600 average crowd and 13,600 at peak.

Still, works are ongoing with the facilities for upper tier, while seats await installation across the tier. In the 2013/14 campaign stadiummk is to hold over 30,700 people, though the upper stands are to be opened only for most popular events.

At the same time works are ongoing outside the stadium with new parking facilities and shopping centre. More interestingly, though, expansion of the west stand’s DoubleTree hotel by Hilton is to begin soon. First the hotel will be expanded from 127 to 176 rooms by expanding along the south stand, while eventually it is to host 302 rooms surrounding the entire stadium.
