While the north, east and south stands are being covered with one of the most impressive roofs to date, western side of Stade Vélodrome is completely leveled now, with the main stand being demolished completely.
Currently five cranes are being installed, all of which will operate at the new structure. Smallest one stands in the spot of future pitch entry for players, while remaining four (two of which have luffing jibs) stand outside, on the exterior perimeter of the stand.
New Jean Bouin stand will accommodate club offices, player infrastructure and vast majority of corporate facilities, while the stand itself will for the first time in years match the opposite Ganay Stand, making Marseille’s largest stadium more symmetrical.
