Yesterday the deadline for new Vikings Stadium construction tender passed. Of six companies that have officially expressed interest in building the $975 million project only three decided to submit a formal bid. Two of them are giants, one operates more in the region.
Hunt Construction, Skanska and Mortenson Construction will be interviewed in the upcoming days by stadium project authorities and selection of the best bidder is expected in early February, perhaps as early as Feb 1.
Of the projected price tag on the future 65,000-seater construction should cost some $682 million, with selected contractor earning between 2-4% ($13-27 million).
