There was no press release or official comment about the deal being terminated, but an information by Golden Lions Rugby Union referring to the stadium as 'Ellis Park' first time after a 4-year deal sparked numerous comments a few days back.
As discussions arose, it was confirmed that Coca-Cola decided no to prolong their deal, planned from the very start to last between 2008 and 2012, but with an option of lasting longer if both sides agree on conditions.
The deal was worth ZAR 12 million per year ($1.4 million, €1 million).
