USA: Council supports Farmers Field

Worth $1 billion, new stadium for Los Angeles is one step closer to being built. City Council voted unamously in support of the project yesterday, as Bloomberg Businessweek reports.

Yesterday L.A. City Council met to discuss and vote on the 78,000-seat Farmers Field. New stadium received unamous support with 12 votes for and no opposition. Three coucillors were absent, however.
Doubts raised by local residents didn't change the outcome, though their fears of increased traffic and pollution aren't fully addressed by the investor. Anschutz Entertainment Group who plan to pay for the whole development, also announced they will be redeveloping road infrastructure around it to provide efficient system for the complex.
Farmers Frield, stadium worth an estimated $1 billion will stand next to famous Staples Center and is to be accompanied by conference complex worth additional $300 million.
