McLaren Construction is to build new supermarket with additional space above it. This development is to precede Tottenham’s new stadium and should be finished by late 2013 or early 2014, The Construction Index reads.

First stage of the Northumberland Development Project is to see the new Sainsbury’s supermarket (one of London’s largest) along with 110,000 sq ft (10,000 sq m) of commercial or education space above it. Though the plot has been fenced for some time with preparatory work ongoing, we just now know the contractor for this phase.

McLaren Construction, who will work on this development north of the future venue, already worked with Tottenham Hotspur on their training centre in Enfield.

Both parties express their excitement and confidence as news of the cooperation was revealed. However, it is to be seen whether both the investor and contractor will share those sentiments when the first phase is to be delivered – in late 2013 or early 2014.
