No more controversies over the ball passing goal line? Possibly, as IFAB accepted technological solutions. First test during this year's Club World Cup.

International Football Association Board accepted using goal-line technology during their Zurich meeting.
It is unknown yet what kind of technological measures will be used as there are two possibilities. First is the Hawk-Eye system of cameras that will enable optical verification. Then is the GolRef chip system, based on a chip being installed into the ball and signalling when it crosses the line.
Whichever it is, first tests are to be done during this year's Club World Cup. IFAB at the same time confirmed that all tournaments will continue to be played with 5 referees instead of traditional three.
