Throughout the year, Borussia Dortmund invited the disadvantaged to lunch together in their stadium. This time, the last edition in 2023 took place right before Christmas.

Charity at Westfalenstadion
Eighty people in need were once again able to have a hot meal in the Hospitality area of Signal Iduna Park stadium. This is the result of BVB's cooperation with Gast-Haus Dortmund and Dortmunder Tafel - social welfare organisations that have been helping the poorest of the community for many years. This year's latest edition fell in the run-up to Christmas. The club's employees became volunteers for the day, who not only provided assistance, but also gifted their guests with yellow and black scarves, and chocolate Santa Clauses. In 2023, Germany's biggest stadium welcomed more than 500 people to regular lunches. The German vice champion has declared its willingness to care for both the local community and sustainable use of food. As we read on Borussia Dortmund's official website, the lunch initiative at Westfalenstadion will also continue next year.

Signal Iduna Park still impresses, despite 16 years without renovation!
What is interesting in the context of the Dortmund venue is its construction, which has remained unchanged since 2006. At that time, in order to meet the expectations set for the World Cup, the corners that had previously been empty were built over. In addition, an innovative roofing system was introduced, with pylons carrying the entire weight of the roof. Thanks to its complete roofing, compact design and excellent visibility, the stadium is considered to be one of the best in the world for spectating football matches.
It comes as no surprise, then, that next year's European Championship matches will be seen at Signal Iduna Park as well. What other stadiums will be the venues for Euro 2024?
